Taye Koreeda-Wu

Taye Koreeda-Wu

Fifteen-year-old Taye Koreeda-Wu is a passionate violinist and violist who has studied with Kelly Parkins-Lindstrom since he first picked up a string instrument, and has also studied under Min-Jeong Koh and Marko Dreher of the Royal Conservatory of Music. His artistry has been recognized with multiple first-place finishes at the Hamilton, Burlington, North York, and CCCTIF music festivals, along with honourable mention at the OMFA provincials. He was awarded a RCM Regional Gold Medal for the highest practical examination mark and currently studies at the ARCT level.

Taye enjoys performing in chamber settings, such as with the Oakville Symphony Youth Orchestra, the RCM Strings Orchestra, and regional chamber ensemble. He has shared his talents in service as well; volunteering at the RCM to support young musicians in primary and intermediate orchestras and with the Oakville Suzuki Association. His contributions include a featured role in an online RCM Strings Pedagogy Course video and performing at the RCM Violin Symposium.

Also a saxophonist of four years, Taye enjoys being a soloist, collaborator, mentor, and student. Offstage, he finds creative expression through soccer and photography, seeking new ways to grow, connect, and create.
Taye is honored to receive the OCO Youth Engagement Scholarship, and to join the orchestra for the 2025-26 season.
