Your Baroque Favourites

Charles, our Music Director, says there's something about Baroque music that's so compelling...it's some of the most popular Classical music. Perhaps it's the rhythm, the steady pulse that we all love.

Beyond that, with Bach in particular, but also the Handel and Telemann, it's the counterpoint, that is, so many things happening at once, all perfectly organized into a harmonious whole.

On this concert we're please to feature our principal flute, Susan Somerville, who will join us in the Bach Suite #2. This Suite ends with the famous Badinerie.

Another favourite on this concert is the last movement of the Handel Concerto Grosso.

This is music that lives and breathes joy!

  • Telemann Suite La Changeante
  • Handel Concerto Grosso Op. 6 #10 in D minor
  • Bach Orchestral Suite #2 in B minor
    • Susan Somerville, flute soloist
