Heath Allen completed his Bachelor of Music at Queen’s University and his Master of Music in performance at the University of Toronto under the direction of Eugene Rittich. He has performed frequently with orchestras throughout southern and eastern Ontario including the Niagara, London, Windsor, Kingston, Kitchener-Waterloo, Oshawa-Durham, Royal Opera Canada, Brampton Lyric Opera and Opera Kitchener.
In 2012, he went on tour in China with the Ontario Festival Orchestra. Heath is currently the Principal Horn with the Oakville Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since 1994. He is also the former Principal Horn with the Kindred Spirits Orchestra and performs as associate principal with the Burlington New Millenial Orchestra. Mr. Allen also performs with Intrada Brass of Oakville and coaches brass and winds for the Oakville SymphonyYouth Orchestra.
Mr. Allen has performed as a soloist with the Oakville Symphony, the Oakville Chamber Orchestra and Intrada Brass. He has also conducted on numerous occasions for the Peel Intermediate Honour Band, the Brampton Youth Concert Band and the Oakville Symphony Youth Orchestra.
He lives in Mississauga where he continues to have an active private studio.
