Cristina Sewerin, B.Mus (perf), MLS, is excited to be performing Bach’s glorious Brandenburg Concertos once again with Oakville Chamber Orchestra! An active freelancer in the GTA, she is Co-Principal Oboe with Orchestra Toronto, Principal Oboe at Etobicoke Philharmonic as well as alternate Principal Oboe with Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra.
Cris has previously soloed with OCO on the Brandenburg Concertos as well as Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante.She has performed concertos by Bach, Mozart, Vaughan Williams and Francaix with various orchestras and will be performing Copland’s Quiet City on english horn with Etobicoke Philharmonic in spring 2024.
She studied oboe & english horn performance at University of British Columbia, and is an alumna of the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Orchestral Training Program as well as the Banff School of the Arts chamber music program.
She holds a Master of Library Science degree and served for many years at University of Toronto as an academic librarian in engineering and the sciences.
